Midwest Earl Grey Traditional Karate

Session Dates

• Fall Session: September 13, 2025 to December 16, 2025
• Winter Session: January 6, 2026 to March 24, 2026
• Spring Session: April 7, 2026 to June 2026

Class Schedule

Saturdays

• 9:00am to 10:00am – All ages, all belt levels
• 10:00am to 11:00am – Advanced class (Limited belt levels and ages)

Tuesdays

• 6:30pm to 7:30pm – All ages, all belt levels
• 7:30pm to 8:30pm – Advanced class (Limited belt levels and ages)

Note: In addition to the regular training fees, each student of Earl Grey Midwest Karate must register with J.K.A. Canada. These fees are a once-a-year membership fee due October 1st each year.

Due to new Insurance rules, all members must complete a 2025 JKA form, or they are not able to go on the Dojo floor.

Memberships & Affiliates

Earl Grey is an affiliate club of Midwest Karate. The chief instructor of Midwest Karate is Sensei Jerry Marr, who has been involved with Martial Arts in Winnipeg for more than 65 years.

Japan Karate Association, International of Canada (JKA)

JKA is a technical body that oversees grading and certifications. The yearly $60.00 membership fee also covers the cost of insurance. First-time members must pay an additional $10.00 for the Passport Book, bringing the total fee to $70.00.

The Passport Book is a personal record of the member’s karate history and will contain a record of the member’s ranking, seminar attendance, and technical qualifications (Officials, Instructors, etc.).

Important Note

Those who train regularly (or occasionally) at Earl Grey Karate must be registered with Midwest Earl Grey Traditional Karate or Marr Sensei, Midwest Karate.
You must also be a JKA member in good standing.
If you are not registered with Earl Grey and wish to participate, please speak with Sensei McKenzie.
